Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of gamification-based formative assessment in elementary school mathematics learning. The focus of the research is to identify the impact of gamification on student engagement and learning outcomes. Using a quasi-experimental design, this study involved two groups of elementary mathematics students: one group used conventional assessment, while the other applied gamification-based assessment. The results showed that gamification significantly increased student engagement, with higher final exam scores in the group that used the gamification system. These findings suggest that gamification-based assessment can be an innovative strategy to improve student learning outcomes, especially in subjects considered challenging, such as mathematics. This study contributes to the development of more engaging and interactive assessment methodologies in elementary classrooms.
