Abstract

This article discusses the concept and application of strategic management in school program planning and development. The study is motivated by the need for schools to establish a systematic, adaptive, and relevant development direction in response to changes in the educational environment. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a literature review method by examining books, scientific articles, and written sources related to strategic management in education. The findings indicate that strategic management is a comprehensive process involving the formulation of vision and mission, environmental analysis, strategic planning, program implementation, and continuous evaluation. In school program development, strategic planning plays a role in determining policy direction and program priorities, while strategy implementation emphasizes the optimization of human resources, finances, infrastructure, and organizational culture. Strategic management also contributes to improving the performance of educators and education personnel, strengthening school governance, and enhancing the quality of educational services. Therefore, the planned and adaptive implementation of strategic management is an important effort for schools to survive, develop, and remain competitive amid the dynamics of education
